"We have been raised to fear the yes within ourselves..."
The journey into the ship turns from a line into a circle.
Sarah, Mairead, Holly, and Selene form an unlikely alliance in the lower deck. They pool knowledge and classified research into ritual resistance.
They discover that Emma's the hinge in the cosmic mechanism. She directly determines whether the threshold can open. They just don't know if what's behind the door is worse and better than what the Chthonic has in store already.
Holly herself might be a warning sign. The naditu's always at risk. She seems trapped in the very rituals she's trying to deploy as resistance, and her path looks like a cul-de-sac.
The episode closes with the realization that the psychological trap might have a mechanical spring. Mystical ships are great metaphors, but bad engineering. Bulkhead Nine might prove to be Chekhov's design flaw.
