The Pink Room

The Pink Room is a Discord server devoted to the work of Neural Nets and Pretty Patterns. It has over 15,000 members, a moderation staff of over 12 people, and multiple weekly events.

It is a significant node in the Neuralverse continuity — not just a fan space, but part of the fabric of the work itself.

The Pink Room is sustained by events. Hosting or running an event is an important sign of community responsibility here. There are four ongoing weekly broadcast events, all in the voice channel:

• Every Wednesday at 10pm EST — Neural Nets plays a recent track, free.
• Every Thursday at 10pm EST — Neural Nets plays an advance episode of the Desire Horror audio drama.
• The Deep Drop Party — a three-hour experience curated by Bliss Blank and a rotating cast of cohosts. It has run every week since 2018, making it the longest-running continuous broadcast show on Discord. The format often varies — it has tested and deployed technical innovations like haptic telemetry.
• File Friday, every Friday, hosted by Syndi Rella — a curated experience with a tight focus on a particular track. Running continuously, and we are glad to have it on the lineup.

All events occur when at least twenty people show up. That way, shows are always well-attended community events.

There's a full list of rules in the server. Here are the important points:

1. This is an adult server. We don't check IDs — that's against Discord policy. Mature behavior is expected.
2. This server revolves around the creative work of Neural Nets and Pretty Patterns. It's a workspace in many ways. It's a community, but it is not a government.
3. The Name Butterfly role is a voluntary community ritual in which names are changed for those who opt in. Those with the role might have their names changed at any point. This is just a game — play or not as per your preference.
4. You probably have to know who NNPP is. That's how we know you're moderately situationally aware.
5. Generative AI products — particularly AI-generated voice files and associated publicity — must be kept in the AI room. This is crucial.

The Pink Room is an irony.

It's a MacGuffin about unreliable memory. It first appeared in Clone (Patreon · Soundgasm · Neuralpedia p.1) and famously recurred in iMoan (Patreon · Soundgasm · Neuralpedia p.2).

It's a very Neuralverse-specific kind of MacGuffin. A place for training and conditioning — with rewards so intense they're impossible to remember. Lady Aurora says she doesn't remember what happens in the Pink Room, but she knows she likes it. It's the Pink Noir version of The Silence.
