Descendent

Descendants inherit. Descendents go down. Meg and Tessa are doing both. They’re following Lyra’s dream coordinates into the Sitri Center’s buried architecture. The corridors are older than the building. They might be older than buildings.

Sippar, Kutha, Eanna, Ereshkigal, and Ur are stations, and they’re not on the cheeky metaphor train line. They are the original control architecture of it, the first recorded systems for organizing bodies. The naditu were temple workers and pleasure workers. The Sitri Center found the blueprint and built on top of it.

Tessa sees the discovery as a pre-IPO scandal. It’s the kind of documented depravity that collapses investor confidence and triggers control reversion. Meg, the engineer, follows the logic.

The soundproofed room at the end of the corridor is the final station. Something is leaking through the seal.

They recognize the voice coming through the wall. The episode closes with the map in hand, the door still locked, and something on the other side. It’s the key to a scandal. Whether the scandal humiliates them or Sitri is on the other side.
