Draggy, over-the-top Stepford housewife audio experiments
The apron's the Stepford accessory, and Stepford crystallizes one of the most powerful aesthetic imaginaries we have. Scrubbing Bubbles says lipstick, headphones, apron, heels and that spins up a whole head picture for almost everyone who hears it.
The Neuralverse engages a lot of aesthetics that are well outside my beliefs. I don't believe in gender hierarchies; I don't believe in fixed gender at all. I think we're born naked and the rest is drag. So — these tracks are very very draggy.
They're repurposed and retold housewife stories. I don't think we can erase inherited stories about gender and work and power. Constant condemnation is almost as restrictive as the Stepford script. These tracks drag up the whole idea — so it should come as no surprise that we're painting for the back row here. Expect every one of these tracks to be totally over the top; it is absolutely part of the act.
